Normandy,1944-It is the time of the Second Front in Europe, and the Allies are beginning their historic march through France. Close behind them-just across the river-are two fully equipped German Panzer divisions. The advancing Nazi tanks must be stopped. A handful of valiant British paratroopers set out to destroy the bridge that will enable the pursuing Germans to overtake the Allies. But the paratroopers are slaughtered before they can carry out their mission. Onto this grisly scene come a young English deserter and a beautiful French patriot left crippled by the Gestapo. Can two lone people succeed where the Allied paratroopers have failed ?
