I want freedom. But at what cost?
I was once an office drone, now I command legions.
I was once innocent in the ways of violence, now I have destroyed planets.
People say I have become the tyrant Alvis Bowman was meant to be. That my reign—my threat — is worse than his ever was. But he was not fighting for his people. He was not fighting for everyone and everything he loves. His goals were purely to conquer. Mine is to protect.
After this is done, I may lose the love and respect from them all. My wife, my son, and my friends. Is that too high a price to pay for freedom? To save everyone I love from certain death.
I do not want my legacy to be one of bloodshed and destruction, but as every freedom fighter knows, bloodshed and destruction are the only paths to freedom.
