A Story by

"Two hearts with secrets. One small town. A love worth fighting for."

Texas is a big state, but it isn’t big enough to hide Ella Wright’s past. When her two-year-old son’s father threatens to take the boy, Ella leaves for Eagle’s Roost, Montana, a small town buried so deep in the rugged mountains, no one will find her. She meets Charlie Evers, a man who seems to be hiding secrets of his own and Bertha Simms, the boardinghouse owner, who offers her a room for rent.
Bertha is a known matchmaker with considerable success matching her boarders with the locals. She immediately sees the attraction between the mysterious lady from Texas and the brooding livery owner. But how can she strip off the veneer Ella and Charlie wear like protective armor so they can see how well suited they are?
Ella is drawn to Charlie, but she can’t marry him—or anyone. The blackguard back in Texas will never allow that.
Charlie has never known love and he is totally smitten, but he’ll have to fight evil forces he never knew existed if he is to save Ella from a lifetime of looking over her back. Bertha is ever present, reminding him if he prevails, he’ll gain a family along with the forever love he seeks.
