Rosalee Meade has always been a dutiful daughter. Her sister, a high-spirited, adventurous type has run off with a man the family barely knows. Since the sheriff won’t do a thing, Rosalee has no choice but to go search for her sister which she does.
When weeks pass with no word from either sister, their frantic mother approaches Talbert (Tally), an ex-Pinkerton agent and current private detective, to find her daughters and bring them home.
Tally finds Rosalee working as a fortune teller for a carnival moving west through Colorado, but she’s reluctant to trust the detective and insists she’s depending on the carnival owner to take her to her sister.
It doesn’t take long for Tally to discover the carnival owner is a vile man who traffics in luring young women to the western brothels. He kidnaps Rosalee and shows her the evidence, intending to hunt for her sister after taking Rosalee home. But Rosalee insists on going with him.
They travel the rugged mountains, from mining camps to wild west towns. But they are not alone. The hunters become the hunted, and while dodging bullets and dangerous terrain, they learn to depend on each other as a spark of love takes flame. But with Rosalee’s safety and his heart on the line, Tally must first defeat the notorious gang holding her sister with nothing but faith and grit.
