Reporter Alan Derwent is banished to the "top end" of Australia as punishment for writing a rude limerick about his boss's wife. Tortured by the flies and heat, Alan thinks he has landed in hell, but then he falls in with Darcy Malone, a bushman who takes him on the adventure of his life.
