Offered a chance at redemption for wasting most of his life, Cain finally joins one of the spacefaring Legions that defend Earth. Unfortunately, the legion he signs with is the most troublesome and has the least amount of resources. If their mission to conquer a faraway alien planet fails, the Legion will cease to exist. What's worse, the gap between ranks reveals a sadistic side to the leadership and a huge flaw that could lead to the Steel Legion's possible downfall.
Cains's problems continue to mount as he acquires a power that shouldn't exist. Will this power make him a pawn, victim, or savior?
