I’m not sure which of the Fates, deities, or demons decided I was the Chosen One, but whichever one it was must have been drunk, stoned, or stupid because I can barely manage to save myself most days. Expecting me to save the entire world is a bit of a stretch considering my skill set consists of spilling coffee on myself, casting spells that backfire with dire consequences, and collecting enemies.

Speaking of enemies, I have a new one, maybe - too early to tell just yet. She says she’ll let me know IF I survive.

Survive what you ask?

Oh nothing too terrible, just Team Tarot careening down the River Styx on an eighteenth-century ghost ship looking for the passage between the world of the living and the dead so we can find the World Turtle, convince it to get us a meeting with the Angle Hariel, then let Hariel decide if I am worthy or not. Like I said, no big deal.

Did I mention that the crew of the Octavius are all ghosts, that no one on Team Tarot can pass through the Veil alive, and that resuscitating us once we reach our destination is up to Vakchos, my least favorite a$$hole vampire?

This Chosen One crap is really starting to suck!
