‘There was Clementine, and then Susanna…you seemed to have a thing for women named after old country songs. This latest one at least has a classy name, Sarah Morella. Is that Italian?’
‘You…you knew about Susanna? And Sarah?’
Carter inched away from the knife in the wall and his stomach churned. He wondered if she poisoned the cucumber. Georgia smirked as she took another knife from the drawer.
‘Do you remember what happened with Clementine and Susanna?’
‘They both got sick of me and took off,’ he said and threw his hands up in the air.
‘Well, that’s not exactly what happened.'' Georgia laughed.
‘What’s so funny?’
‘You see Carter, I had something to do with their…disappearances.’
