When cybernetic security unit Zander Bowman fled the Gold Pass System for Coalition space, his fellow fugitive Gemma Wakefield vowed to track him down and mount his head on the luxury shuttle he stole from her. Two months later, she gets her chance. Unfortunately, their reunion happens when the Coalition is on the brink of war thanks to R. Thomas Fullerton, Virtus Base’s corrupt founder. To make matters worse, Zander refuses to return her shuttle.
Being stuck aboard a vessel with Gemma is the definition of hell according to Zander, but if it means he’ll get out of the Coalition alive, he’s willing to tolerate her. Both of them have information the other needs, and both have their own reasons for wanting to see Fullerton fall. Forced to travel together again, Zander’s starting to see a different side to Gemma, one that isn’t quite so prickly.
As tensions rise and dangers mount, Gemma and Zander have to cooperate if they’re going to expose the man who framed them for murder and brought the threat of war to the Coalition. Zander’s certain they can do that—as long as they don’t kill each other first.
