She had no intention of marrying anyone! Especially the stuffy old Sir Hugh Eavleigh. Rosamund was young and headstrong. The idea of being tied to a man old enough to be her father horrified her. But she need not have worried, for Sir Hugh had no intention of marrying her. He was a confirmed bachelor, set in his ways, unmoved by the charms of the frivolous women in his set.
