Fiona Shaw's handsome handyman is many things: lethal with a power drill, certainly magical, and, as of this morning, the prime suspect in a murder. The murder part was definitely not on today's travel agenda.
Gus's lighthouse job was supposed to be simple. Shore up the support studs, update the plumbing, secure the lantern lens and keep Mystic Haven's historic beacon shining bright. The fact that those "tools" include enchanted measuring tapes and self-leveling hammers suddenly explains a great deal. So does Gus's uncanny knack for fixing things that should not be fixable.
Then it gets worse. A magical fog rolls in, seals the harbor, and strands the entire suspect list on a luxury yacht owned by Fiona's insufferable former boss, complete with a dead man's secrets, a missing antique lens, and a handyman who’s a mage. With Theo, the tea shops talking cat familiar, offering moral support and pointed commentary on magical crime scenes, Fiona launches the kind of investigation as only a tea witch can.
Somewhere under that fog is a killer who knows these waters and a lighthouse that's lied for a century, and Fiona means to drag both into the light.
