Quantum Quilt Quagmire
(2026)(The fourth book in the All Hallows Magical Inn Mystery series)
A novel by Kat McGee
Some quilts keep you warm. Others unravel the fabric of reality and get you framed for murder.
Evie Evermore never expected her inn to host an ancient Egyptian mummy with a fabric obsession. But Milton Mummford, the town's most enthusiastic quilter, has become a beloved fixture at All Hallows Haven, always ready to admire a guest's scarf or discuss batting thickness. Then a pushy quilt collector is found dead inside the quilting circle's display, wrapped in a legendary magical quilt that shouldn't exist outside a vault, and every stitch of evidence points at Milton.
The quilt in question is said to fold space and reveal hidden truths, but right now it's just folding Milton's alibi into a knot. He was seen near the scene, clutching fabric swatches, mumbling about thread count. The town is ready to lock him away, but Evie knows a frame-up when she sees one. A mummy who names his fabric shears and lectures strangers about seam allowance is many things, but a killer isn't one of them.
With her sardonic cat familiar unraveling fabric clues, her meticulous clerk tracking quilting circle alibis, her animated skeleton offering unsolicited commentary on ancient wrappings, and her deliveryman friend helping her piece together the truth, Evie must sew up a mystery before the real killer cuts another thread. Because every quilt tells a story, and this one is hiding a deadly secret in its stitches.
To clear Milton's name, Evie must follow the pattern before the killer crafts a perfectly stitched cover-up. In All Hallows, quilts aren't just for comfort. They're sometimes the murder weapon.
