After the battle of Casmary, Circe and Nero believe that the worst has all but been put behind them. The emperor is dead, Alana is behind bars and awaiting trial, and all the Seasonal Witches and Wizards are finally free.
Yet, another war is brewing. This time, the humans are rising, and a new tyrrical leader is chosen to take the mantle, trying to dethrone Nero and take over Casmary and Esna.
For good this time.
But everything comes at a price as Circe soon finds out. The chosen Four need to be found if they are to broker a peace between the humans and witches. Except—the emperor sought to that nearly two decades ago.
Now, Circe must find the Witches that were marked, and the only way to do that is to trust an old enemy that could only be Circe’s hope. Regardless of what Nero’s feelings are.
With Circe’s growing attraction to Nero becoming more of a problem than an asset, she must choose whether or not to leave him behind or break her own heart.
