When a local theater’s headshots start developing an extra face—a dapper stranger from the 1930s who refuses to stay dead—Dr. Emily Hayes is sure there’s a rational explanation involving film chemistry, poor lighting, or rampant community-theater hysteria.

Her partner Juni Quimby disagrees. Loudly. And with incense.

The Between Agency duo arrives at the historic Rutherford Playhouse expecting to debunk ghost stories and maybe record an episode of their struggling paranormal podcast. What they get instead is shredded costumes, threatening graffiti, and one extremely overdramatic actor who turns up dead beneath the catwalk—eerily close to where another performer ‘fell’ to his death nearly a century ago.

Now Emily’s up to her elbows in darkroom chemicals and questionable alibis, Juni’s talking to the ghosts between acts, and the police would really prefer they not ‘assist’ with the murder investigation. But as the film develops—literally—the two realize the truth might be hiding in plain sight… or just beyond the edge of the frame.

A witty, atmospheric mystery about ambition, jealousy, and the things that refuse to stay buried—The Frozen Frameproves that when it comes to ghosts (and theater people), the line between drama and death is razor-thin.
