Curtain Call for Murder

(2025)
(The first book in the Curtain Falls Mystery series)
A Story by

When Thea Martinelli brings famous actor Roland Montgomery to Curtain Falls for her production of "The Winter's Tale," she expects artistic temperament—not murder. But after a heated argument with Thea, Roland is found hanging from the theater's vintage rigging system, leaving her as the prime suspect. With opening night looming and her freedom at stake, the artistic director must become an amateur detective to clear her name.

As Thea investigates, she discovers that Roland had more connections to her quaint theater town than anyone realized. He arrived with an agenda—researching a tell-all memoir that threatened to expose the reinvented lives of several Curtain Falls residents. With each revelation, the suspect list grows: the mayor whose Broadway dreams were crushed by Roland's scathing review, the costume designer whose career was destroyed by his criticism, or the mysterious new technical director with suspicious credentials and sailing experience matching the specialized knot used in the murder.

In a town where everyone has a theatrical past and the line between performance and reality often blurs, Thea must use her director's eye for detail to identify the killer before the final curtain falls. When the memorial performance becomes the perfect stage for a showdown, she'll need to script a trap worthy of Shakespeare himself to catch a murderer hiding in plain sight among Curtain Falls' colorful cast of characters.
