MiaFriday night, this guy books me for a gala. Sounds classy. He pays Harvey a fortune for one evening with me.
Then I wind up driving out into the middle of nowhere, in the pouring rain, nothing but wilderness all around me. Not a cell phone tower in sight. And there sure as hell aren’t any galas up here on this mountain. Is this someone’s sick idea of a joke?
Now this mountain man claims he knows me. That we’ve met before. Says he’s going to protect me. I’ve never heard anything more ridiculous. This guy is unhinged for sure.
From where I’m standing, I’m stuck in an isolated cabin with his massive body blocking the only exit. He’s about to find out what happens when I’m cornered.
She thinks I’m the enemy, but I’ll do anything to protect her…even if it’s from herself.
ArminWe’ve met before, but she doesn’t remember me. In her line of work, I guess she can’t be expected to memorize every man who’s ever laid eyes on her. Though I did save her life.
But it seems like she’s forgotten that, too. She thinks I’m just another paying customer, and part of me wishes it were true. Guess which part? God knows I haven’t forgotten the last time she was in my arms.
I need her to at least hear me out, but all she wants to do is bolt. In this storm. And the way she’s looking at me now, I’m fixing to have a fight on my hands if I try to stop her.
Damn it all, she looks even more beautiful when she’s enraged. If I have my way, I’ll never let her go, now and forever.
