The Frozen Fountain

The snow fell, the bus came to a halt at the bottom of a hill, and the passengers were stranded. To Heron it was just one more small disaster in a succession of greater ones. To her children it was an uncomfortable adventure. To Tony Clent, in whose farmhouse they all took shelter, it was the end of a long period of lonely unhappiness. For them all, had they only known it, it was a turning-point in their lives.
