Big Bad Wolfe Gets Married

It’s Christmas Eve, almost exactly a month after thwarting a terrorist attack on the Macy’s Thanksgiving holiday parade in New York City, and ex-SEAL Wolfe Jarrett and journalist Poppy Flannery are getting married as part of an absurd deal made with the terrorists in order to guarantee everyone’s safety.

Since Thanksgiving, Wolfe has resigned from the Navy and joined Brothers in Arms, and now he’s marrying the love of his life. Sure, the marriage is fake, meant only to keep Poppy safe, but Wolfe is determined to spend the rest of his life doing whatever it takes to make her fall in love with him.

Poppy agreed to the marriage because she’s not stupid. She enjoys being alive, and if that means marrying her high-school-nemesis-slash-secret-crush, she’ll do it, and she’ll probably like it even though she hates doing it against her will.

What Wolfe doesn’t know is that in the intervening month, Poppy’s been quietly asking questions and sending out feelers, and when the terrorists get wind of it, they plant a bomb at the Christmas Eve wedding as punishment for breaking the deal, and now the wedding promises to be a blast of an entirely different kind.
