With no nearby lodgings available, their coachman arranges shelter at the private estate of the tenth Earl of Milford. Although the earl's reputation as a notorious rake precedes him among the company of polite society, the woman is immediately intrigued by her host. But a series of harmless pranks among the snowbound guests turns deadly, prompting the woman to protect the earl, and prove him worthy of her love.
