Floria links the worlds of her best friend Rayze, a misplaced orphan with too many hobbies and big ideas, and her new boyfriend Curtis, a somewhat surly loner who falters under the weight of tragedy. These three in their mid-twenties set out on a road trip from Victoria to the Grand Canyon where they meet three sisters, the proprietors of the Three Honkies' Soul Emporium. Over the course of the story, Floria and her men feel their way through grief, individuality and the idea of home.
