Imagine arriving in a small town you've never heard of to settle the estate of an uncle you never met.
Now imagine becoming the front-page headline on your second day.
JOBLESS JILTED BRIDE INHERITS BUZZARD'S—FINDS BODY!
Frankie Rossi's uncle left her an unusual inheritance. Not a coin collection—his businesses. Rocky left his niece a trash company called Buzzard's and a landfill, a run-down bar where the cocktails come with alibis... and a few other surprises—like a dog named Elvis the attorney forgot to mention.
Sure, finding a dead man under the rug made her gasp. So did hearing her uncle say, "Still here. Still dead," hours after his memorial service. But now she's suspected of setting Buzzard's on fire for the insurance money.
In a town where motives and clues hide in plain sight, Frankie's about to learn that sometimes fires smolder before anyone knows they've started.
Small town. BIG secrets.
