A medical examiner has uncovered the surprising cause of death for several people rescued from the devastating floods during the recent Hurricane Edward. The bizarre investigation leads the team to Riverside, California where similar victims emerge. All had been rescued from the recent wildfires only to die from what is believed to have been poison in their systems.
The team splits up to handle the various aspects of the case. And when a similar case of poisoning turns up in Baltimore, Kate’s intuition kicks into gear. With few leads and more victims emerging, she asks the new boss to let her run on this one. She is sure there’s a connection.
