KC’s days are busy, between college classes in the morning, working at a café in the afternoons and then four nights a week working at a bar, she has no time for anything let alone dating. She hasn’t had much luck with the dating scene, so it isn’t a hardship to ignore it. She has plenty of time for that once she’s done with school and finds a job, she’s only twenty-one still so there’s no rush.

That all changes when a fight breaks out at the bar on Halloween, ending up with her in the ER needing stitches. The handsome man that brought her here is a stranger, but one she’s happy to thank any way he’ll let her. She just didn’t imagine it’d end up with her falling in love with him. Now that she has, she’s anxious to meet his little girl that clearly means the world to him, and hope she likes her too, because KC doesn’t want to let her handsome soldier go.

Ryker is finally home after being deployed the last eighteen months.
