Brian found Katya in the woods and knew she was his. Even at just six years old, he knew she was made to be his. As the years passed, he fell further in love with her, only to be disappointed each morning past the day she believed is her birthday, for the mate pull not showing. It’s been nearly a year of it now and he’s done waiting. He wants Katya as his mate, the stars be damned.
When Brian tells her he intends to claim her that night, Katya knows the only thing she can do is leave. Without her there he would find his true mate, and she wouldn’t have to watch it happen. As she searches for somewhere new to live, she finds the last thing she expects—her real family.
