In Walking on the Water Jo Garcia & Sara Maitland's intention has been to gather together diverse material that demonstrates the relationship between feminist ideas and experiences and women's spiritual lives - or provides a critique of that relationship. To that end, the twenty-two contributors have produced biography, polemic, fiction and poetry, cartoons and illustrations, all of which grapple with the questions of belief in a personal and often provocative way.
