Wreckage
(2022)(A book in the Event series)
A collection of stories by Alicia Copeland, Steve Metcalf, Robert S Miller and J C Skala
200 miles from Prudhomme, New Mexico, a group of urban explorers were filming the latest installment of their popular web series. The star of this episode was the decaying corpse of a crashed airplane in the middle of nowhere. They found no traces of casualties and could track down no survivor accounts anywhere online. A plane that never existed. A wreck that never happened.
Come along on the journey narrated by four voices all seeking to unravel the mystery of the wreckage.
THE SWAMP MAN by STEVE METCALF: When a young man wakes up alone in the shadow of a decades-old airplane crash, he worries about his safety and how this event is tied to his girlfriend's mysterious death one week ago. The unnamed wreckage. Two unsolved murders. The curse of the witch. It all comes together in the end.
THE STOWAWAY FROM JUAREZ by ROBERT S. MILLER: The plane, full of passengers, crashes in the New Mexico desert. Miraculously, only the pilot and the airplane's owner die. With no radio contact or road in sight, the passengers wait patiently for their rescuers while consuming expensive liquor. In the meantime, the head of security makes another discovery in the baggage compartment. A young stowaway from Mexico who it appears also deals in drugs.
QUANTUM by J. C. SKALA: When a time traveling ninja arrives in a sleepy Old West town, he quickly finds out the dusty buildings hold a deadly secret. Zombies. And lots of 'em. Will he stay and eradicate the danger, saving the woman he loves? Or will he escape and let the sand reclaim the doomed city?
CONTROL by ALICIA COPELAND: A group of urban explorers (and aspiring influencers) stumble upon a plane out in the middle of the desert. What they find in the plane changes them from the inside out and picks them off one by one.
