He manages to hack the pace, winning the respect of his employer, staying there three years then spends a year on a huge northern cattle station before a stint in Vietnam. On his father's untimely death and the threat of a mortgagee sale of the family ranch in Montana, he returns home and with the help of a mysterious backer manages to win back one of the biggest but worst performing ranches in the county. With hard work and help from loyal staff and friends he manages to return the ranch to financial stability. Just as respect and success appear in sight he is arrested for the rape and brutal murder of a young local girl. A gripping tale of his epic journey.
