Grit-Lit. Action-Forward Literary Thriller. Southern Crime Fiction. Appalachian Noir. Whatever the label, *A Bunch of Fives* is a bruising, cinematic thriller filled with visceral action, lush, detailed prose, and truly heartfelt emotion.
Danny Bradigan survives the war and a storied career as a professional fighter—only to be gunned down and left for dead.
In the silence of a coma, as machines breathe for him and the world moves on, a mysterious old man bargains for his life.
Danny’s recovery and search for answers lead him to a small Appalachian town fighting desperately to keep its sins buried.
As his violent past stalks ever closer, Danny finds himself mentoring a young boxer and falling in love with the boy’s sister.
All three are caught between the town’s festering wounds and the institutions determined to exploit its dark secrets at any cost.
Moving between the grit and realism of a devastating wartime rescue, the brutal intimacy of a championship boxing match, and a remote Appalachian town built on buried sins, A BUNCH OF FIVES is a bruising literary crime thriller that explores
the simmering violence that men carry, the fragile nature of faith, and the blood-soaked cost of redemption.
