Her Breath
I pick up the pieces. That’s what I’ve always done.
Put them back in order and gluing people's lives together before moving on to the next.
What started with my oldest friend’s son now has me knee deep in a madness I’m not sure I can contain.
She’s unhinged, unchained, and all mine.
Breaking rules and boundaries that are supposed to keep her alive and at my side, but the spawn defies authority at every turn.
Like the sun, she has consumed me. If I’m not careful, if I don’t keep her confined, she will burn us both.

I’m drowning. The medication is numbing but the voices are convincing.
