After their parents' shattering divorce, Susanne Sheldon and her brother Maurice were sure love and marriage were not for them. When they met sympathetic estate agent Simon Atkinson, who persuaded them to move to the Lake District, Maurice fulfilled his dream of becoming a full-time painter. Susanne was also happy working as Simon's secretary and was soon deeply in love with her boss.
