In the Fast Lane

(2015)
(The first book in the Hard Driving series)
A novel by

Race car driver Kerri Hart might be the only female driver in the circuit, but she refuses to work with potential sponsors like Colt Hardware - men in suits who think being a woman in the sport means she should pose for commercials wearing skintight leather and a kiss-me pout on her lips. But that hardline stance, plus the image problem she's facing because of an idiot ex-boyfriend, ends up leaving Hart Racing with no potential sponsors. Not a good position to be in for a family business that's already got financial problems.
When her brother Grady surprises her with the news that he's up and sold a majority portion of Hart Racing to Colt Hardware, angry doesn't even begin to describe how Kerri feels. But Colt's majority control over the business means she doesn't have a choice but to work with holier-than-thou Ranger Colt, the rep in charge of turning Hart Racing around.
Colt's investment provides a little financial relief, but Ranger's plan to pretend to be engaged so they can fix Kerri's image problem? Sure, she's noticed how attractive he is, but the only reason she agrees is for the sake of her team - guys whose livelihoods depend on the success of Hart Racing. Ranger is too arrogant, too bossy, and - when she's willing to be honest with herself - too good to be true.
Neither can deny the crackling chemistry between them, but at the end of the season, will their engagement be nothing more than a memorable performance, or can they stop pretending long enough to see just how real their relationship is?
