The Wolf Pack

(1968)
(A book in the Jim Bannister series)
A novel by

$12,000 is a lot of money - an expensive price tag on Jim Bannister's head. But Banister feels little danger of being recognized as he rides along the mountain flank overlooking a remote settlement in the Rockies. Suddenly he runs into a pack of ruthless outlaws who force him to accompany them to the town below to steal long-needed supplies. Bannister wants no part of a gang about to terrorize an unsuspecting group of villagers, but when he is recognized b the pack, his chances of escape slim down considerably. It takes a lot of guts for an outlaw to walk into a sheriff's office and claim a reward, but greed is the byword of this pack. Besides, $12,000 is a lot of money.
