Braden wasn't looking for trouble. He was just a ranch hand, out looking for stray horses. But trouble found him. He heard about someone doing something pretty low and getting away with it, and it started to work on his mind. Then the man who told him was found dead. Lots of folks would just turn away from it and move on, but Braden wasn't most folks. No, he had to look into it a little. That was his first mistake.
