Safety in Numbers

(2012)
A novel by

Carl Hodson isn’t one to pass up a good deal. He’s in the market for a used fifth-wheel, and to the consternation of his friends, decides to take a two-hour drive on Father’s Day, to view an RV he found advertised by a private party. Unfortunately, he doesn’t return home.

His friends, Rosie and Tim Morton, and Mary Keller, are worried sick about him. Has he disappeared of his own accord, or has he met with foul play?

The two middle-aged women embark on a search to find him. As the amateur sleuths drive all over the state—and after purported sightings that simply don’t add up—they come to a frightening conclusion: law enforcement may very well be involved in his disappearance.

The ladies step on the toes of officers from several agencies. When they disregard a very specific directive to ‘go home,''' and subsequently break the law, they’re soon on the run.

Will they find their friend? Or will they end up like him? Missing and possibly … dead.
