Hey, Odessa here. I'm back with another snafu to deal with. After my last attempt at solving a murder almost got me killed (thanks to a troubled ghost,) I focus on my scarecrows. Well, I try to, but there’s the minor matter of being under arrest. I mean, it’s a huge misunderstanding. I’m an honest, hardworking witch who’s just trying to bring her dead guy back to life. I don’t see the problem.
An escape from custody, a hideout in a magic distillery, and another ghost showing up means this witch is up to her pointy hat in trouble. And the ghost who finds me means business. Arietta Frost was a sly, entitled magic draining harridan when alive, and she’s an even worse ghost. And super powerful. She blackmails me into finding out who killed her by trapping my new cat familiar and my friend – did I mention Sol? He works for me, we’re friends, and he recently told me he’s in love with me!
After a quick shuffle through the evidence, the case is solved, when a magic tracker reveals the killer. If only it were that simple. The supposed killer has an alibi, as do the rest of the suspects. But someone shot Arietta, and I need to figure out how and who, all while avoiding getting caught by the Magic Council for my sneaky escape from jail. It’ll be fine once I’ve explained things. Hopefully.
With suspects everywhere, the ghost demanding answers, and my magic fading, I’m running out of options. But I will clear my name with the Magic Council, so I can get back to my farm and find a way to bring Brodie to life. I’ll also shake loose this cruel ghost by finding her killer.
Last week, life was just pumpkins, scarecrows, and magic. Now, it’s all murder, mayhem, and suspects.
