I barely survived the fire that took everything.
He pulled me from the flames and carried me to the church. He tells me God chose him to guide me, protect me, and cleanse the demons from my body with hands that are gentle even when they make me sin.
He says I belong only to him. That no one else will ever touch me. That only he can save me.
But when his hands begin to wander, I no longer see a priest.
I see the devil.

I am not a priest.
Yet I tell her God entrusted her soul to me and she believes every word because I am patient. Devoted. I give her sanctuary and teach her that every quiet command, every lingering touch, is holy. Even when my hands claim places no other man will ever touch, I call it God’s will.
But there are those who wish to take her from me believing I am nothing more than a weak man of God.
They have no idea what I am.
They have no idea what I’ve done to bring me here.
And they certainly have no idea what will happen if they try to steal the one shred of light keeping me human.
But they’re about to find out.
