My life has never been perfect, but up until four years ago, I had a pretty good thing going.
I held rank as an enforcer for the Stillwater pack. I was close with the pack’s Alpha and Luna, having been practically raised by them in place of my dead mother and absentee father. I was in line to become the pack’s lead enforcer, a prestigious position that others would kill for.
One impulsive night was all it took to completely derail my life’s trajectory. One night with the Alpha’s daughter, who was both far too young for me and completely off-limits. One night of giving into temptation, knowing it was something I could never come back from.
Rather than sticking around to face the consequences, I took off. I left town and relocated to Chicago with the intention of never returning, but I should’ve known my past would catch up to me eventually.
At least that’s why I thought I was called back. Instead, I was offered the rank of Beta within our pack because Alpha Reid still doesn’t know what I did. He still doesn’t know the truth about why I left, and he definitely doesn’t know that as soon as I returned from Chicago, I fell right back into bed with his only daughter.
