I never feared flying. It's the falling part that sucks.
Mom took everything from me in my first year of high school. In the second, I lost almost everything I'd built since. With my best friend Ed's help, I spent the summer getting up again.
Ed's the chosen one in some ancient prophecy and he’s changed for good. That makes sense, but I’m not yet sure if it’s for the better. With my brother sidelined in the hospital, and all our other friends preparing for both exams and war in the faerie realm, I’ve got to help him figure it out alone.
But all that’s a piece of cake compared to the third, more personal threat. My murderous mother and her enslaved packmates, including some of our teachers. Meeting the challenges they present means beating enormous odds, and I’m not sure I have enough momentum to fully escape her orbit.
Gravity was made for defying. But am I strong enough to do it?
