When one of Darkcliff’s wealthiest and most mysterious vampires, Lady Katinka Khasanova, hears about hairdresser Bonnie Ray’s sleuthing successes, she asks her to find a missing antique. It seems wisest for Bonnie to say ‘yes’, since the vampire is a new client who is is convinced the antique was stolen by someone in Darkcliff.
It can’t hurt for a naturally curious person to ask a few questions around town. Can it?
But when an attacker targets the vampire, leaving her for dead, Bonnie is left scrambling for answers as she delves into the past. Was someone willing to kill to prevent the antique from being found? Or could there be another reason for the crime?
As her investigation veers from bad to worse, Bonnie starts doubting her sleuthing skills. The humans are flat-out denying any involvement. The vampires are angry and offended with her for asking.
