Vivian thinks she’s settled into a normal-ish life with her boyfriend, Quin…until the powers she inherited six months ago start having side effects. She dreams of graveyards. Plants wither under her touch. And a visitor from the past crosses the threshold of the afterlife to give her an ultimatum: accept her gift, control the balance between life and death, or risk losing that control forever.
When a vision of a young girl'''s murder brings death to Vivian’s doorstep, she uncovers a mysterious Council member’s trail of killings. The Council demands an appearance, and her summons from the supernatural government can’t be a coincidence.
To stop the killer, she has to face her own darkness and choose between seeking redemption and running from the past, but will the cost of embracing her magic tear her and Quin apart?
