ABOUT THE AUTHOR
James Pattinson (19152009) served in the Royal Artillery and later the Merchant Navy during the Second World War, sailing on the deadly Arctic convoys to Murmansk and Archangel. Drawing on his wartime experience, he wrote more than fifty novels, establishing himself as one of Britain’s finest naval thriller writers.
