An outcast slave. A runaway noble daughter. And a mountain whose secrets will change the world.
Palani and Rosa flee the mainland to escape a violent master and a forced marriage, landing on the mysterious shore of Mount Yair, the mountain over which the mysterious green and violet godlights shimmer every night. Injured and dying, Palani doesn’t expect to survive the first night of his freedom.
Before dawn a strange feral woman appears, silent but bearing a cure for Palani. When he and Rosa search for her, they discover secret caverns in the mountain that speak of ancient prophecies, a powerful god, and a battle at the end of the world. Even stranger, Palani may have a role to play in this story, a role he doesn’t want but can’t seem to escape.
For it seems the god of the mountain gets what he wants, and he will do whatever it takes, from bringing allies to causing earthquakes to creating an entire new species of human, to secure futures for Palani, the mountain, and the entire world of Balia. The Third Orchard is the first book in the five-book series Mount Yair.
