Playing Doctor

(2010)
(The second book in the Pillow Talk series)
A novel by

The moment his lips touched mine, I felt like I was drowning. Lost.

Then it struck me who was doing this to me. Gray. Doctor. IQ over one forty. Too much like Kevin for my taste.

Since I couldn't bring myself to stop the kiss, I pulled out of the fog and distanced myself from the action. Instead I catalogued the nuances: taste (beery but nice), texture (firm, hint of stubble), and technique (lots of lip, not so much tongue, slobber nonexistent).

His thumb feathered over my neck. "You aren't feeling it, are you?" he said against my mouth.

"It's very nice," I replied politely even though I was sure he felt how my pulse was raging.

"Nice?" He tugged me so my body pressed against his. "Let's try this again."

I was going to point out that he himself claimed he should stay away from me, but when his lips connected with mine again I was lost to everything. Again.

Except feeling. Warm and languid one moment, hot and agitated the next. This time, he kissed me with his entire body, and my body found it very intriguing. I felt wrapped in him, surrounded and invaded. And there was no pulling back.
