Skating on Thin Ice
(2026)(A book in the Camden City Fire Hawks Hockey series)
A Story by M J Padgett
Eden Lockley is a bully. At least, that’s what she reminds herself every day as she tries to navigate her new life. After her father cut her out of the family for defying him, she moved halfway across the country to her aunt’s small town farm. The only problem with her new start to life? Her next door neighbor, Hudson Wilds.
Sick of being bullied, Hudson signed up for hockey lessons and discovered a natural talent that gave him a new confidence and lead him to going pro. However, when his old high school nemesis and bully moves into the house next door, his anxiety skyrockets. But she’s come alone, without her torturous brother, and there’s something different about her that draws his interest.
As Eden works to make amends to those she’s wronged, she can’t help but wonder if she’ll ever find a true friend. One who sees her for who she really is and not what her popularity can do for them. One with a big and forgiving heart who can see past all the wrong she’s done.
Like maybe the pro-hockey player next door who offers her grace when she needs it most.
