It was a dark alley...

... that turned out to be so much more.

All Jin wanted was to help one crazy street preacher, but hey, no good deed goes unpunished, right?

Jin has somehow managed to live her young life without complications. She has her work as a legal aide in a small Southern town, but otherwise nothing much ever happens. Then a great many things happen, and all at once. None of which she expected.

The street preacher wasn't what he seemed. But then, neither was Jin.

In the pantheon of Gods, the Goddess of Mercy has a crucial role. She must decide who is worthy, and has the sole power to release a soul from hell. The first rule: Mercy and Kindness don't go together.

Now, standing in front of the gates of hell, Jin learns the truth she had hidden from everyone, including herself: She is the Goddess of Mercy, she has a ton of work to do, and she's way behind. It's going to ruin her whole day. Not to mention the next few centuries.

She's going to need help.

You'll love Jin's adventures, and the first one is meeting her assistants: a 1000 year old dragon shapeshifter whose human form is a snarky teenage girl, and then there's Frank, the Eternal Innocent. Frank has issues.

A delightful tale with twists, turns, a powerful ex from another lifetime, the possible destruction of the cosmos, and even a few laughs along the way.
