Draco's Child

Varia lives in a settlement of transplanted humans who have escaped to a distant planet from a polluted Earth. One day she finds a beautiful jewel, and keeps it secret, but soon realizes that the jewel is actually an egg which hatches into a ravenous dragon which she names Galatia. She has to save the colony from the hungry dragon, a task complicated by the fact that Varia herself is turning into a dragon. Galatia is at war with the Star Child, who has the power to influence the minds of the adults on the colony causing them to revert to their childhoods. Varia puts her courage to the test to restore harmony to her colony.
