CUPID
As one of the universe’s Cupids, I know firsthand that love isn’t real. All we do is shoot arrows into people—arrows that we don’t even have to aim—then their paths collide. They fall into some sort of trance that humans and monsters call love.
When the universe gives me a note revealing my supposed soulmate is in the mortal realm, I toss it away the second it’s in my hand.
At least, I try to.
The universe has other plans for me, and I end up trapped on a woman’s isolated property with a broken wing. The woman in question? My ‘soulmate.’
All I have to do is last seven days without having her fall in love, which should be easy. I’m not worried about myself, since love isn’t real.
But every minute I’m stuck with her…I begin to doubt what I’ve believed all along.
