Kendel is tired of traveling, but he doesn't have a choice in whether to travel or to settle down. The goddesses have placed demands on him and left him with no choice, even though his travels will expose him to increasing dangers and threats. He's been separated from Flora for weeks, and his goal is to somehow bring a goddess back to life by helping her escape from the underworld. Beyond that impossible goal, somewhere across the continent is the looming challenge of fighting against an invasion of immortal and immoral Dons, the beings who thrive in chaos, destruction, and pain. There's no known means of defeating them, but he is assigned to take on the battle nevertheless.
