L'Anvien remains a threat to peace as Silas recovers from having defeated the forces of the evil false god in Ivaric. Silas idly enjoys a peaceful prelude with Lumene in the palace at Amenozume. He expects to begin his journey to Rolemica to fight L'Anvien on his homeland, but before doing so, Silas wishes to repatriate Lexy's remains back to Amenozume to recognize her as the courageous fighter that she was.
At the same time, Kestrel in the Eastern Forest is observing the preparations for the wedding of Putienne and Remy, knowing that he too will soon be on his way to fight against L'Anvien. But an unexpected assignment to investigate a crazed rumor of a centaur in the Eastern Forest complicates his plans to participate in the wedding preparations.
Silas is doubly shocked by impossible surprises when he recovers Lexy's body and discovers that Lumene has secretly left the palace to visit an amorous nobleman. In his confusion, he impulsively decides to flee Amenozume and start his crusade against L'Anvien on the spur of the moment, taking a pair of trusted friends with him on the long sea journey to reach the far-off continent. The journey is disrupted by bullies, sea monsters, cannibals on a desert island, and more.
Kestrel also finds that the trip toward L'Anvien will be long and challenging as L'Anvien throws an assortment of deadly opponents in his path.
In Voyage to Destiny, the two separated partners struggle against unending obstacles as they try to arrange a rendezvous with one another so that they can join forces for their plans to put an end ot L'Anvien's reign of terror.
