Moving werewolves into the modern world can be a real challenge, even with a strong pack behind them, can these two find it within themselves to lead the way while exploring the new relationship they find themselves in?

Cal has found refuge in the Woodlands pack after years of searching for a place to belong. After getting settled in, he has a routine and discovered a new purpose building a safe place online for all the packs to share information together. It's past time for them to stop operating as if their actions don't have an impact on every other werewolf in the world.
For most of his life, when he gets wrapped up in a project, it’s easy to forget to take care of himself. Harlow, his alpha, has been trying to remind him to take breaks and get something to eat, but Cal needs more than the occasional reminder. His project is important and his physical needs take a backseat.
An important meeting to show off the possibilities of the system to another packmate Cal even more determined to finish, but Dartanian, the alpha of the Cheyenne pack, is unimpressed, despite how far Cal has come. It's a blow to his ego, and when Dartanian insists on having his grandson go with them to keep an eye on the project, it's stress Cal doesn't need.
Bryce is grateful to be out from under his grandfather's thumb, even if it is just for a short while. He loves Cal's idea and can't wait to see it in action, but he knows he needs to tread carefully. The Woodlands pack may act differently than the Cheyenne pack, but all packs are the same, and he's determined to keep his secrets close.
Time spent with the Woodlands pack proves him wrong daily. These werewolves don't spend their days fighting and bickering. He isn't on edge like he is in his family's pack. No one is trying to move up in ranks. He's never seen a pack so calm and at peace within itself. Being there gives him hope, and he sheds a bit of the worry he's been holding onto.
Taking a chance, Bryce opens himself up and shares what's most precious to him, his love of meditation and herbalism. They are passions his grandfather doesn’t understand, but in the Woodlands pack, his knowledge and skills are welcomed. He's had a taste of warmth, acceptance, and friendship in Colorado. But staying isn't a possibility, despite what his heart wants.
As Cal and Bryce find common ground, they have to find a path toward happiness, but all it takes is a single misstep to derail everything. Can they discover the happiness they both so desperately want? Will new pack rules be what Bryce needs to make his life whole?
